On Friday March 5th, the Brooklyn Brewery had a launch party for their new Belgian style “Local 2” brew made with honey and citrus. We’re huge fans of the Brooklyn Brewer so we were sure not to miss this event. This beer with 9% abv was given an introduction to the large crowd by President Steve Hindy and brewmaster Garret Oliver. I made a joke to my friend Dan that this was like being at a Trekkie convention for beer fanatics. With a nice helping of free cheese, this beer went down, smooth and with the yearning for a 2nd glass. Being a fan of getting my cake and eating it too, I opted instead for a follow up of the Brooklyn Weiss and their brand new Intensified Coffee Stout. It’s an imperial stout, so it’s not thick and creamy like a Guinness but this was more like a iced coffee. It was amazing.
I am looking forward to a fully stocked One Barrel selection from this fine local brewery.
