WHISKEY LIVE – THE RECAP

As I mentioned in the post below, this past Monday I attended the NYC night of Whiskey Live. Spent four hours at Pier 60 in Chelsea Piers overlooking the Hudson River, eating some great food, listening to traditional Irish music, and of course…tasting lots of amazing whiskeys, scotches, and bourbons. Some of the highlights were tasting Makers Mark in its form before it is put in the barrels (see pic below, tasted like alcoholic corn, awesome), as well as tasting some great scotches such as The Glenrothes 1975 and the Glenmorangie Signet.

Also subscribed to two great magazines: Whiskey Magazine and Beers Of The World.

Although our bar theme is “Bourbon. Beer. Rock.”, we’ll be carrying a big selection of scotches and other whiskeys. But on the Bourbon front, my faves were represented at the event. Bulleit and one of my new favorites, Four Roses, who’s ambassadors (Al and Jill) treated me and my friend Sarah as family.

Overall, the event was an amazing time – as well as a great learning experience. Next stop will be Bardstown for the Kentucky Bourbon Festival on September 15th!
