Allagash Victor Ale

– Belgian Strong Dark Ale
– 9% ABV
– Allagash’s Tribute series was created so the brewery could explore more unique styles and experimentation. $1 from every bottle is donated to local Maine organizations that “make a positive impact in our greater neighborhood.” For the Victor Ale in particular, the St. Lawrence Arts and Community Center is the recipient of the funding. For the Victor ale, red chancellor grapes are added to the mash. “In addition to a generous portion of Pilsner malt, Victor is hopped with Fuggles and Hallertau and fermented with a wine yeast strain. ”

REV SAYS – This has a very light scent with a clean and fresh finish. It’s tastes like the Kool-Aid of beer but its 9% ABV whichi in my mind, makes it the SBV of beers. If you don’t know what that means, please click here.

– Belgian Pale Ale
– 5.8% ABV
– Harpoon Belgian Pale Ale has the spicy yeast characteristics of traditional Belgian beers along with an exceptional hop aroma and flavor.

REV SAYS – This beer has a VERY strong aroma and a spicy but mild taste. In fact, after you’ve gotten the scent on your nose once, you’ll know from across the room when we open one. It’s an understated overstatement with intense flavors but a mild outcome.
