Let me guess? You want to know when we’re opening right? Well here’s your answer:
AS SOON AS WE GET OUR LICENSE FROM THE SLA!!
They are notorious slow but we’re told it probably any day now. That isn’t stopping us from trying out news beers to serve.
ARCADIA ALES JAW-JACKER ALE
– Pumpkin Ale
– 6.0% ABV
– Battle Creek, MI
– THEY SAY: Jaw-Jacker Ale is our Fall Seasonal, a celebration of harvest-time and the changing of the seasons. Using only the finest malted barley and a touch of wheat for mouth-feel, Jaw-Jacker pours a brilliant orange-amber color with truly unique flavors. Although no pumpkins are used, a blend of nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon work with malty flavors to create a bold flavor reminiscent of pumpkin pie. A light hop note balances out the beer nicely.
REV SAYS: This beer legitimately tastes like Grandma’s punkin’ pie. How they got her to give up the family recipe, ill never know!!
September 5, 2010
Awwwww yeah!! It’s September and that means it’s time for the seasonal brews of fall to appear. If you’re like me, you’ll drink any pumpkin style beer put in front of you because much like pizza, there is no such thing as a bad one. After several web searches, it appears that Idle Hands Bar will be the first to post a review of the beer.
FIRE ISLAND PUMPKIN BARREL ALE
– Pumpkin Ale
– 4.8% ABV
– Fire Island, NY
– THEY SAY: The 3rd beer and first seasonal from this Long Island, NY brewery is a spice-infused, pumpkin style ale. To create this exceptional brew, the team from Fire Island joined forces with a sustainable New York farm to source local hops to produce a new craft ale of unparalleled quality. Pumpkin Barrel Ale is a masterpiece of hops, herbs and spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice and, of course, a ton of real pumpkin to impart a festive, seasonal taste.
REV SAYS: The smells of spices and cinnamon say this beer is not for the weak of heart. The tastes on the other hand says “I’m a pumpkin beer and I love you.”
